The Digital Bible Society was founded in 2001 as nonprofit 501(c)3 organization that exists to serve the Church around the world with Bibles, Christian literature, audio Scriptures and visual Bibles through digital means. Our purpose is to freely distribute digital Christian content of the highest possible quality, value, and ease-of-use in the user's own language.
By God’s grace, in 2007, the Digital Bible Society completed a truly remarkable library and what many missions leaders now consider the premier Christian resource for Mainland China – Chinese Treasures 2007. Chinese Treasures is a free and copy-able Bible library on CD that represents the Christian content of some 30 organizations. This resource contains 4 Chinese Bible translations, English Bibles, Audio Scriptures, Commentaries, 175 books arranged in 7 libraries, 500 hymns, and the complete Mandarin version of the Hope Video wonderfully impeded in the Scriptural text. All materials are provided in both Simplified and Traditional script. To date we have freely distributed over 100,000 copies to missionaries and missions organizations for delivery to the Chinese people – who in turn have copied CDs libraries into untold millions. With God’s help, we intend to launch fully into the production of a similar Arabic CD in mid 2008.
We are also developing a multi-lingual, multi-national web interface that implements recent groundbreaking technologies and Scripture texts into a single online Bible reader that elegantly ties together the textual, audio and video aspects of Scripture in more than 50 languages.
