Pioneer Bible Translators

Pioneer Bible Translators (PBT) is an evangelical, non-denominational mission committed to practicing and promoting Biblical Christianity and the unity of all Christians. As a missionary ministry of Christ's church, PBT's desire is to truly "Bring God's Word to Life" among people groups worldwide who do not yet have it in their own language by:

1. Providing Scripture in the languages of the people among whom they ministry
2. Developing mother-tongue literacy programs
3. Establishing and strengthening congregations
4. Promoting sustainable indigenous Scripture Impact initiatives
5. Equipping nationals for partnership in ministry
6. Cooperating with others who share these goals

PBT originated in 1976 out of the Stone-Campbell Movement to serve Christ's church in the task of evangelism through Bible translation.

Pioneer Bible Translators currently has about 250 missionaries serving in Papua New Guinea, East Africa, West Africa, North Africa, Northern Eurasia, and Vanuatu.
